The Cyclones Battled the Tigers and the Lady Indians

On Saturday, September 28th, the Cyclones traveled to Tekemah for a triangular with Ponca. They were 1 and 1 on the day, defeating Ponca 12-0 and falling short to Tekemah-Herman 6-7.
To start the game against Ponca, senior Jordyn Ratzlaff singled on a fly ball to center field and advanced to second on an error. Freshman Mattie Rayback hits a fly ball and reaches on an error by the left fielder while Ratzlaff scores. Freshman Brittney Faltys doubles on a fly ball to left, scoring Rayback. Sophomore Allie Dirkschneider reaches on a dropped third strike while Faltys scores to end the inning.
In the second inning, sophomore Reann Bruhn singles on a fly ball to center. Next, junior Hannah Cech singles on a fly ball to left, scoring Reann. Sophomore Autumn Slaughter singles on a hard ground ball to center and advances Cech to second. Ratzlaff singles on a fly ball to center and scores Cech while Autumn advances to second. Rayback walks on and advances each runner one base. Autumn scores on a pass ball and Ratzlaff and Rayback each advance one base. Faltys singles on a ground ball to center, scoring both runners. Sophomore Reese Bruhn hits a hard ground ball and reaches on an error by the shortstop, scoring Faltys. Reann walks, advancing her sister to second. Cech singles on a ground ball, scoring one and advancing another. Sophomore Rebecca Hastreiter singles on a ground ball to left, advancing both runners.
In the third inning, freshman Shay Marty singles on a ground ball to the shortstop. Dirkschneider singles on a ground ball to center, while Marty advances to second. Reese Bruhn singles on a ground ball to center and scores Dirkschneider and Marty, ending the game with a score of 12-0.
In their second game, the Cyclones played the Tekemah-Herman Tigers. They had a rough start, only getting one runner on base, Autumn Slaughter.
Starting the second inning Faltys is hit by a pitch. Dirkschneider singles on a fly ball to left field and advances her to second. Reese Bruhn singles on a ground ball to center, scoring Faltys and advancing Dirkschneider. Reann Bruhn singles on a bunt and advances Dirkschneider to third and Reese to third. Autumn Slaughter singles on a ground ball to center, scoring Dirkschneider and everyone else advances, but the inning is cut short leaving runners stranded on base.
The third inning was another short one, but in the fourth Reese Bruhn hit a fly ball and reached on an error, but was stranded after another three quick outs. In the fifth, Autumn Slaughter triples on a fly ball to center. Rayback singles on a line drive to center, scoring Autumn. Faltys doubles on a fly ball advancing Rayback to third. Dirkschneider singles on a ground ball to left field, scoring one and advancing another. Reese hits a ground ball and reaches on an error by the shortstop, scoring Faltys and advancing Dirkschneider.
In the top of the sixth, junior Annemarie Slaughter singles on a hard ground ball to the shortstop and reaches on an error. Autumn singles on a fly ball to center and advances her sister to second. Ratzlaff singles on a ground ball to the center fielder, scoring Annemarie and ending the inning. The final score was 6-7 with the Cyclones falling just shy.
