Howells-Dodge School is a fully accredited Class III PK-12 district. The attendance center located in Howells serves students in grades PK-1 & 9-12. In Dodge, we serve the students in grades K-6. The average daily attendance fluctuated near 290 students. There are 30 certificated teachers employed by the district and 2 administrators. The business offices of the district are in Howells. Unique to smaller school districts and communities is the fact that both communities also support a parochial school system in the elementary grades.
The Howells-Dodge Consolidated district has land valuation in four counties. They are: Colfax, Dodge, Stanton and Cummings. The membership of the Board of Education includes 3 members from the Dodge ward and 3 members from the Howells ward. The primary industry and vocation of the area is agricultural related work, with crops and livestock being the major source of income for the residents.
The majority of the district’s graduates pursue degrees in higher education, be it an associate degree, bachelor’s degree or a certificate from a trade school. The remainder will either enter the workforce or military.
The “Jaguar” sports teams, fine arts programs and organizations such as FFA and FCCLA have experienced a great deal of success in competitive environments of co-curricular endeavors.
