FCCLA officers attend FLC
On Wednesday, September 16th, the Howells-Dodge FCCLA chapter officers attended the Fall Leadership Conference at Wayne State College. Throughout the day, the officers attended sessions that focused on how to bring leadership and creativity to their chapters. Husker Harvest Days
On Wednesday, September 16, the FFA seniors traveled to Wood River to check out Husker Harvest Days. Though they were only there for a short amount of time, they made it worthwhile. They checked out BigIron, Auctiontime, Case IH, Milwaukee, and many more. Softball competes in Lakeview tournament
The tournament that the Highway 91 Cyclones went to on September 9th ended in two losses and a win. They started out the tournament playing against Lakeview, followed by Boone Central, and ended the day with Tekamah- Herman. By the first inning, the Cyclones fought but were unable to get any points. However, the story changed in the second inning as they managed to gain two runs. Lady Jags go 9-1
The Lady Jaguars earned two more wins on September 8th against Pender and Tri County. First, the volleyball team took on the Pender Pendragons and won in 3 sets. The score of the first set was 25-21, the second was 22-25, and the third was 25-11. Kylie Brichacek and Peyten Becker both led the team in kills, followed by Audrey Brabec with 3; Tenley Ernst, Bella Koliha, and Brynn Throener all had 2, and Addison Heard and Riley Svehla . . .
Jaguar students win literature quiz bowl
Five Howells-Dodge students attended the Nebraska Literature Quiz Bowl in Seward on September 16th with exciting results as they ended the day as the champions in the small school division. The team consisting of Addi Beeks, Shayla Gall, Norah Noyd, Ella Martin, and Emma Lienemann finished the day with a record of 6-1. Lady Jags take down Wakefield Trojans
On September 15, the Lady Jags took on Wakefield in Dodge. The first set was the closest, at 25-17. They played their best in the second set, leading 25-6. Another great set came during the third, making it 25-10 and ending the game 3-0. Leading in kills were Isabella Wegner and Kylie Brichacek with 7. Following closely behind was Peyten Becker with 6. Howells-Dodge vs. Humphrey-Lindsay
The Jaguars carry on the winning streak. On September 11, Howells-Dodge played the 0-2 Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs. For the offense of Howells-Dodge, the team had a total of 340 rushing yards. FFA members attend Greenhand Day
On September 9, new members of the HDC FFA chapter attended Greenhand Day at CCC. This event is designed to introduce first-year members to the FFA organization and help them learn more about what it has to offer.
