Jaguars fall to Eagles in a close battle

The Howells-Dodge boys basketball team took on Lutheran High Northeast in Howells on Friday, February 21. “It was a tough night for the Jags. We made plays on offense, but just couldn’t seem to get a stop on the defensive end. LHNE did a nice job executing on offense and they outworked us on the boards. We made a run late, but LHNE also were pretty great at the free throw line while we struggled to get there and convert if we did get to the line,” said Head Coach Kevin Janata.

HDC: 16/6/18/12 Final: 52

LHNE: 12/14/16/19 Final: 61

The leading scorers for HDC were Hunter Luther- 15, Andre Martin- 14, Nathan Tomcak- 10, Dane Meyer- 7, Chase Luther- 2, and Carson Heard- 2. Leading rebounders for the Jags were Hunter Luther- 10, Nathan Tomcak- 5, and Andre Martin- 2.

The Jags will take on Cedar Bluffs on Tuesday, February 25, in Howells in the first round of sub-districts starting at 6 pm. The Jaguars are currently 19-5 for the season.
