On Wednesday, September 30, the Howells Dodge high schoolers traveled to Leigh for the annual HWY 91 Career Day. The day began with an engaging keynote presentation from A’ric Jackson, a nationally recognized student leadership speaker. For more than a decade, Jackson has inspired and motivated students through his mission to teach, inspire, and encourage young people to pursue their goals and dreams. After that, the students went to a variety of sessions to learn about the jobs they picked for the day. Students went to three sessions about careers they may be interested in and then headed to lunch. After lunch, they went to their final session for the day. The day concluded with a keynote presentation from Dr. Suzi Busby of Project Harmony, who spoke with students about the importance of hope. Her message provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their own futures and the role hope can play as they navigate challenges, relationships, education, careers, and life after high school. The students are grateful for this opportunity to explore a variety of careers and the chance to connect with professionals.
