Speech team travels to Lutheran High Northeast

The Jaguar speech team went to Norfolk to compete at the LHNE Eagle Classic on Friday, February 27. Two people competed in each event at this meet, with many making it to the finals and placing. The two OIDs that competed both made it to finals, with Allie Dirkschneider, Gabe Martin, Isabella Wegner, Isaiah Coufal, and Jose Arita-Segovia placing 5th overall. Cooper Kreikemeier, Garret Praest, Isabel Belina, Nathan Tomcak, and Noah Coufal got 1st place. Then in the duet event, Noah Coufal and Garret Praest made finals and got 1st place out of everyone. 

Isabel Belina competed in informative and made it to the finals, and also got 1st overall. In poetry, Annemarie Slaughter made it to the finals and placed 2nd. Also in entertainment, Garret Praest and Allie Dirkshneider placed, with Garret getting 2nd and Allie placing 4th. Addi Beeks was a finalist in POI and ended up getting 3rd overall. In serious, Shayla Gall placed 4th in the finals. Finally, Isaiah Coufal made it to the finals in humorous and placed 5th. For the team sweepstakes, the Jaguar speech team tied for second place with Battle Creek at 178 points.
