HWY 91 Cyclones host the Pierce Bluejays

On Tuesday, August 25th, the Highway 91 Cyclones hosted the Pierce Bluejays in Leigh. Pierce won the game by a score of 8-3.

At the plate, Matelyn Rayback went 2 for 3 with 1 run and 1 double. Shaylynn Marty recorded 2 hits, 1 RBI, and 1 double. Allie Dirkschneider had 2 RBIs. Reann Bruhn went 2 for 3 with 2 runs, 1 double, and 1 triple, while Rebecca Hastreiter added 1 hit. As a team, the Cyclones recorded 3 runs, 7 hits, 3 RBIs, 3 doubles, and 1 triple. 

In the circle, Matelyn Rayback started for the Cyclones and pitched 3 innings. She gave up 5 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 4 batters. Reann Bruhn also pitched 3 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 batters. Together, the Cyclones recorded 7 strikeouts.

Defensively, Grace Hnasen recorded 1 putout. Matelyn Rayback added 1 assist, while Shaylynn Marty finished with 2 putouts and 4 assists. Reese Bruhn recorded 6 putouts, and Allie Dirkschneider led the Cyclones with 7 putouts. Bailey Rios added 1 putout, while Reann Bruhn recorded 1 putout and 1 assist.

The HWY 91 Cyclones will look to bounce back from the loss as they continue their season and prepare for their first tournament on Saturday, August 29th in Wisner.
