Jaguars conquer the Cougars

On September 25th, the Jaguars sent the Lyons-Decatur Cougars home with a loss. With a 36-6 win, the Jaguars continued moving along through the football season. In the first quarter, the Jaguars started off with a lead of 14 points. Continuing the win, they gained another 6 points; by the third quarter, the Lyons-Decatur Cougars had gained 6 points. The Cougars were slowly taken over as the Jags managed to secure another 16 points. Although the other quarters were successful, neither team was able to gain more points in the fourth quarter. 

Junior Oliver Belina had an astonishing 319 yards rushing, followed by senior Blane Stutzman with 78, and sophomore Levi Cada had 15 yards. In solo tackles, senior Briggs Ernst had 7 tackles, followed by Blane and Sophomore Jarret Perrin with 3. In total, the team had 22 solo tackles. During kickoff, Levi had a whopping 179 yards. Oliver made five touchdowns during this game, which is worth 30 points. Blane Stutzman also made a conversion that was worth two points. In total, they ended the football game with 36 points. The Jaguars will continue the season by playing the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers on October 2nd, with kickoff starting at 7 in Howells.
