Lady Jags defeated by North Bend
The Lady Jags traveled to North Bend to face the North Bend Central Tigers in their final regular season match on Tuesday, October 22. The Jags lost a close three-set battle to the Tigers, losing the first set 18-25, the second 28-30, and the final 18-25.
Statistically, for the Jags, senior Ava Noyd led the team in kills with 9, followed by sophomores Kylie Brichacek and Bella Koliha with 6, Peyten Becker with 5, and Audrey Brabec with 4. Ava Noyd also led the team in blocks totaling 4, and Kylie Brichacek, Audrey Brabec, and Peyten Becker each tallied 1. Senior libero Jade Bayer led the team in digs with 26, Peyten Becker totaled 15, Kylie Brichacek had 12, and Taylor Steffensmeier had 11. Jade Bayer, Ava Noyd, Peyten Becker, and freshman Riley Svehla each served 1 ace. Taylor Steffensmeier dished out 15 assists and Riley Svehla had 13.
The Lady Jags now head into the post-season with a record of 15-13. The Jags have earned the number one seed in their subdistrict, and therefore host their subdistrict in Howells on October 28th and 29th. Who they will face Monday night, will be determined by the winner of a game between Walthill and East Butler. Good luck to the Lady Jags as they head into their postseason!
