Jags head to state for the second year in a row

On Monday, March 2nd, the Howells Dodge Jaguars took on the BDS Eagles in the Class D1 District Final. BDS had over a 2-hour drive for a chance to make it to the state tournament. BDS challenged the Jags, but the Jags passed the test and won 77- 44.

Scoring went well for the team. Nathan Tomcak had 24 points, going 4 for 8 from the 3-point line, and Chase Luther had 23 points, going 7 for 9 on threes. The Jags had 35 total rebounds, and Dane Meyer came up with 13 of those, and Nathan Tomcak came down with 10.

This was a good battle and a good win for the team. Some words from coach Janata are, “It was a good team effort all around. Nathan Tomcak and Chase Luther had tremendous scoring efforts, scoring 24 and 23 points, respectively. Dane Meyer did an awesome job hitting the boards with 13 rebounds. The team defense was outstanding as we built an early lead and never looked back. I couldn’t be prouder of this team and how they play together. Our next game will be at 9 am on Thursday of next week against Fullerton at Pinnacal Bank Arena.”
