Jaguars won against Lawrence-Nelson Raiders 36-8

 

The Howells-Dodge Jaguars met the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders on Friday, August 30th at 6:00 p.m. in Howells. The Jags came out with the win 36-8 to secure the first win of the season and more to come. 

The Jags were up at halftime 20-8 and the Jags kicked off to start the second half. At the start of the first quarter, junior Hunter Luther scored the first touchdown of the game. Then freshman Oliver Bellina ran in for the two-point conversion. Dane Meyer threw to Dylan Brichacek for a 32-yard touchdown. 

In the second quarter, Dane Meyer threw another pass to Konner Bourek for a 39-yard touchdown. Then Oliver Belina for another two-point conversion. In the second half, we had two more touchdowns to make the final score of the game 36-8. 

 Dylan Brichacek had 6 carries and 21. Dane Meyer had 6 carries and 17 rushing yards. Hunter Luther had 9 carries and 92 rushing yards. Oliver Belina with 15 carries and 126 rushing yards. 

Dylan Brichacek had 7 solo tackles, Hunter Luther had 4 solo tackles, and Dane Meyer, Konner Bourek, and Carson Heard all had 3 solo tackles in the game. 

As a team, the Jags had 27 solo tackles and 37 assists for a total of 64 tackles.

This week the Jags have their first away game on Friday, September 6th. Kick-off will be at 7:00 p.m. The Howells-Dodge Jaguars will be taking on the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots.
