The Jaguars move on to the quarterfinals
The Howells-dodge Jaguars met Bancroft-Rosalie on the Jaguars territory on November 1st at 7 p.m. The final score of the game was 54-22 with the Jaguars coming out on top.
The Jaguars started with the ball to start the game. In the first 12 seconds of the game, Hunter Luther runs for a 34-yard touchdown to score first for the Jaguars. Oliver Belina ran in a two-point conversion. In the middle of the first quarter, Hunter Luther scored an 11-yard touchdown, and the two-point conversion was punched in by Hunter Luther.
To start the second quarter Hunter Luther ran in a 6-yard touchdown and the two-point conversion was made by Luther as well. For the second touchdown of the second quarter, Hunter Luther scored another 11-yard touchdown and Luther drilled in another two-point conversion. For the final touchdown of the second quarter, Hunter Luther ran for a 40-yard touchdown and Oliver Belina made the two-point conversion. The score at the end of the second quarter was 24-14 with the Jaguars leading.
In the third quarter, Hunter Luther ran for a 19-yard touchdown, and the two-point conversion failed. In the fourth quarter, Oliver Belina ran for a 31-yard touchdown to score once again for the Jaguars. The two-point conversion was made by Dane Meyer throwing a pass to Konner Bourek to score the two-point conversion.
“I thought overall it was a good effort on both sides of the ball. We played very physically which wore down Bancroft- Rosalie” said coach Speirs.
This Friday, November 8th the Howells-Dodge Jaguars will go against Humphrey Archangels Defenders in Humphrey to see which team will move onto the semifinals. Good luck to the Jaguars as they play in the quarterfinals!
