Howells Dodge Vs. Osceola

On Friday, October 11th, the Jaguars traveled to Osceola to take on the Bulldogs for their week 7 game. The Jaguars ended up winning 50-6 over the Bulldogs. This win made the Jaguars 6-1 on their season.

The Jaguars were forced to kickoff to start the game and therefore started off the game on defense. This however was not a problem for the Jags as they would force them to punt the ball. On the first offensive play, Hunter Luther would break a 75-yard run for a touchdown bringing the game to a 6-0 start. The Jaguars however would go on to miss their two-point conversion. The quarter would end with the Jaguars up 6-0

In the second quarter, Dylan Brichacek would open up the quarter with a 1-yard rushing touchdown, and Hunter Luther would go on to clean up the 2-point conversion bringing the score 14-0. Hunter Luther would also go on to rush for a 36-yard touchdown making the game 20-0. The Bulldogs would however respond to this and make up 6 points and the only points they would score in the game, but the Jaguars would stop their 2-point conversion and the score would be 20-6. The Jags were quick to respond to this with Dane Meyer completing a 10-yard touchdown right before half. Andre Martin would go on to catch the 2-point conversion making the score 28-6 at halftime.

“It was a complete team effort and I thought we played at a high level” stated senior Melvin Delgado.

In the third quarter, junior Hunter Luther ran 6 yards to score again for the Jags. Dane Meyer then completed a pass to Konnor Bourek to score the two-point conversion with six minutes left in the quarter. The Jaguar's defense was able to hold the Bulldogs so they didn’t score in the third quarter. Freshman Oliver Belina ran 49 yards to score for the Jags. Dane Meyer threw another pass to Konnor Bourek to score the two-point conversion to end the quarter 44-6.

In the fourth quarter with 10 minutes left in the game, Dylan Brichacek ran 30 yards to score on an interception. The Jags failed to score on the two-point conversion making the final score of the game 50-6. The Jaguars will take on the Defenders from Archangels Catholic High School on Friday, October 18th in Humphrey starting at 7 pm.
