The Jaguars defeated the Cougars
The Howells-Dodge Jaguars met Lyons-Decatur on the Jaguars territory on September 13th at 7:00 p.m. The final score of the game was 64-26. This makes the Jags 3-0 for the season.
The Jags started the game off with the ball and within 49 seconds the Jags had the first touchdown of the night. Hunter Luther scored first for a 14 yard touchdown. Then near the end of the first quarter the Jags got their second touchdown by Hunter Luther for a 71 yard touchdown.
Off to the second quarter, the Jags had a total of four touchdowns. The first one was by Hunter Luther for a 42 yard run. The second touchdown was by Matt Bester with a fumble recovery in the end zone. The third touchdown was by Dylan Brichacek for a 20 yard interception. Then the final touchdown was a 40-yard pass from Dane Meyer to Konnor Bourek for the fourth and final touchdown of the quarter for the Jags.
The third and fourth quarters the Jags had a total of three touchdowns. The third quarter the Jags only had one touchdown that was by Dylan Brichacek for 1 yard run. The first touchdown of the fourth quarter was by Hunter Luther for a 57 yard run. The second one was by Blane Stutzman for a 26 yard run.
Coach Dobbins had this to say about Friday night's game.“The defense really stepped up in the second quarter. Matt recovered the fumble for a touchdown and then Dylan had the pick 6, which really turned the game in our favor.”
This Friday, September 20th the Howells-Dodge Jaguars will go against the Nebraska Christian Eagles in Howells starting at 7 pm.
