Jags dominate the Eagles
On Tuesday, January 14 the Lady Jags traveled to Lutheran High Northeast to take on the Eagles. The Lady Jags came out on top with a 61-42. In the first quarter, the Lady Jags were up 19-13. In the second quarter, the Lady Jags would go on to outscore the Eagles again 14-8 bringing the score at halftime 33-21. Right out of the half, the Lady Jags would come out hot. Outsourcing the Eagles 19-6 making the score 52-27. In the final quarter, the Eagles would outscore the Lady Jags 15-9. However, that wouldn’t matter as the Lady Jags would win 61-42.
The leading scorer for the Lady Jags was sophomore Kylie Brichacek with 16 points. Sophomore Peyten Becker followed with 12 points. Senior Jordyn Ratzlaff with 7 points.
Senior Jade Bayer, sophomore McKenzie Sindelar, and junior Kenadie Throener with 6 points.
Sophomore Audrey Brabec, and senior Ava Noyd with 4 points.
When asked how he felt about the game Coach Polacek said “Lutheran High puts up a ton of shots, counting on aggregation to pull them through. The girls forced Lutheran High into some low-percentage shots, and we scored in many ways during the third-quarter stretch.
The leading rebounders for the Lady Jags were Becker and Brabec with 9 rebounds.
Brichacek with 5 rebounds. Noyd and Ratzlaff with 3 rebounds. Bayer and Throener with 2 rebounds. Finally Steffensmeier had 1 rebound.
