The Lady Jags outscore the Tigers

On Friday, January 24th the Lady Jags had a home game in Dodge against the Tekamah-Herman Tigers. The Lady Jags secured the win early in the first half leading to a running clock in the second half. H-D was red-hot from the field and outscored T-H 45 to 8 in the first half. HD made 28 of 43 (65%) from the field and 13 for 19 from the free throw line. The Lady Jags only committed 7 turnovers for the night. 

Right out of the gate in the first quarter, the Lady Jags scored 20 points and only allowed the Tigers to score 3. The Lady Jags kept their streak going in the second quarter scoring 25 points and allowed the Tigers to score 5. In the third quarter, the Lady Jags scored 18 and the Tigers only scored 2. In the final quarter of the game, the Jags scored 9 points and the Tigers scored 5 leaving the final score 72-15. 

The winning leading scorers for the Jags were seniors Ava Noyd and Jordyn Ratzlaff scoring 14 points each. Junior Kenadie Throener scored 10 points. Sophomore Peyten Becker scored 9 points. Sophomore Kylie Brichacek scored 8 points. Sophomore Audrey Brabec scored 7 points. Sophomore Mckenzie Sindelar scored 5 points. Senior Jade Bayer scored 3 points. Finally, sophomore Bella Koliha scored 2 points. 

Leading the team in assists were Becker and Sindelar with 4 total assists. Koliha and Bayer each had 3 assists. Brichacek, Brabec, and Ratzlaff all had 2 assists. Having a total of 1 assist for the night was Throener, Noyd, Steffensmeier, and Maura Cada. 

Head Coach Scott Polacek stated, “The girls passed incredibly well tonight. They found the open girls streaking for the lay-up, and we finished at a good rate with great teamwork.”

The Lady Jags will face the Pender Pendragons on Monday, January 27th in Pender starting at 5:30 pm.
