Lady Jags get big win over Pendragons

On, Monday, January 27, the Lady Jags traveled to Pender to face off against the Pendragons. The Jaguars defeated Pender, winning 52-40. H-D made their first 3 3-point attempts and never trailed as they upset the #1 team in D1. HD shot 19-43 on the night and only committed 11 turnovers. Pender, minus one of their starters due to injury had to search for offense all night, as HD played lockdown defense most of the game. Pender had yet to lose a game in the East Husker Conference regular season.

Head Coach Scott Polacek said, “We had a few breakdowns, but we kept their All-Staters in front of us for the most part. We hit from outside early, used the post in the 3rd quarter, and drove the baseline in the 4th. That was a big win for us.”

Scorers for the Jags were Jordyn Ratzlaff with 21 points, Kylie Brichacek with 10, Kenadie Throener with 7, Audrey Brabec with 6, Jade Bayer with 5, Peyten Becker with 2, and Mckenzie Sindelar with 1. Leading the team in rebounds was Kenadie Throener with 10, Audrey Brabec with 8, Kylie Brichacek with 7, Peyten Becker with 6, Jordyn Ratzlaff with 3, and Jade Bayer with 1. Jade Bayer led the team in assists with 5, followed by Peyten Becker with 4, Kylie Brichacek with 3, Mckenzie Sindelar with 2, and both Kenadie Throener and Jordyn Ratzlaff with 1. Jordyn Ratzlaff had 3 steals, and both Kylie Brichacek and Jade Bayer had 1. Kylie Brichacek had 1.
