Lady Jaguars Take down the Humphrey Archangels

The Lady Jaguars played the Humphrey Archangels on Friday, January 10. #6 in D1 Howells-Dodge defeated #8 in D2 Humphrey Archangels with a great defensive effort in the 2nd half. HD trailed 16-13 with 1:00 remaining in the first half but finished the quarter strong on a 5-0 run. Then, with 3:15 remaining in the 3rd quarter, HD locked down the defense and did not allow another point by the defenders the rest of the way. HD has now won 4 in a row.

Leading the Lady Jags in scoring on the night was senior Jade Bayer with 12 followed closely behind by senior Jordyn Ratzlaff with 11. Next was junior Kenadie Throener with 6, sophomores Kylie Brichacek and Peyten Becker with 4, and finally senior Taylor Steffensmeier and sophomore McKenzie Sindelar each with 2.
The Lady Jags head coach Scott Polacek said, “ The girls locked it down during that final stretch of the game. We shot well and finished around the hoop. That was a big win for us.
