Cyclones travel to Central City
On Tuesday, September 30, the Cyclones went up against the Fort Calhoun Pioneers. The Cyclones came out of the gate scoring two runs at the end of the second inning, but the ending score came out to 2-10 with the Cyclones losing. The Cyclones had a total of 2 runs and 5 hits during this game. The team had a total of 16 putouts, with Reann leading with 4. Grace Hansen earned the only triple in the game from the Cyclones. Mattie Rayback and Allie Dirkschneider each had a double for the night. Mattie and Reese Bruhn were the players who scored both runs in the game.
The Cyclones also played against the Central City Bison. This game could have turned out better, but the game ended with the score being 1-13, with the Cyclones losing. They had 1 run and 4 hits during this game, with Reann having the only run, which was from Shaylynn’s RBI. Reann was the only player to have a double during the game from the Cyclones. The team in total had 8 putouts, with Lexis, Reese, and Mattie all having 2.
The Cyclones will compete in their sub-district in Hastings on Monday, October 6th, against Chase County, starting at 12 pm. The Howells-Dodge Yearbook staff wishes the Cyclones the best of luck during their postseason!
