The Cyclones represent
The Cyclones went up against the South Sioux City Cardinals for parents/senior night on Tuesday, September 10th. When run ruling the Cardinals in the third inning to end the game, the score was 14-1. Freshman Mattie Rayback threw the three innings allowing 2 hits in which 1 was earned, and striking out 6 people.
The HWY 91 Cyclones held the Cardinals to 0 in the first inning and scored a quick 4 runs. In the second inning Rayback singles on a ground ball to center and scores two and advances one. Bringing the score 6-0. At the end of the second inning, the score is 8-0. Going into the top of the third South Souix hit a home run for their first and only point of the game. In the bottom of the third senior Jordyn Ratzlaff hits a line drive and scores sophomore Autumn Slaughter who got on from a base hit. Slaughter ran all the way from first to home on Ratzlaff’s hit to make the score 9-1. Ratzlaff then scores off of Raybacks hard ground ball to left field. Senior Adyson Krupka singles on a ground ball to the third baseman and Reann Bruhn scores on an error ending the game with a final score of 14-1.
Coach Tiffany from the Cyclones said, "The girls did a good job of adjusting at the plate against South Sioux to put the ball in play. Our aggressiveness on the base paths has shown to be beneficial in getting runners into scoring positions. They continue to mature in their play as we progress through the season”.
