The Jaguars win a close game against Pender
On Saturday, January 25th the Jaguars traveled to Pender to take on the Pendragons. Coach Janata said, “It was a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to find ways to score. We established a double-digit lead in the third quarter but after a few guys got into foul trouble, Pender went on a run, tying and taking the lead. I thought the boys did a nice job not getting rattled and we continued to battle it out in the fourth, hitting some timely shots and rebounding on the defensive end to secure the victory.”
Scoring by quarters:
Howells-Dodge: 7/12/13/9 Final 41
Pender: 5/9/15/9 Final 38
The leading scorers for the Jags were Nathan Tomcak with 11, Dane Meyer and Andre Martin had 8, Hunter Luther had 6, Chase Luther and Ethan Prusa had 3, and Briggs Ernst added 2. Leading the team in rebounds were Meyer and Martin each with 6, Tomcak had 4, Carson Heard, Hunter Luther, and Ernst all had 2, and Chase Luther and Prusa each added 1. Martin and Meyer led the team in steals with 2. Chase, Tomcak, Heard, and Hunter each had 1. Martin also added 1 block for the Jags.
The Jags are now 13-4 and will continue their season with the conference tournament starting next week.
