On Friday, February 28, the Bancroft Rosalie Panthers traveled to Howells to take on the Jaguars. In the first quarter, the Panthers would come out with a strong start, leading the Jags 11-15 at the end of the first quarter. However, the Jags would step up their game in the second quarter, scoring 13 points, and the Panthers had 9. The score was 24-24 at halftime. The Jaguars would come out of halftime hot, outshooting the Panthers 18-13. Making the score 42-37 at the end of the third quarter. In the final quarter, both teams scored 9 points. With the final of 51-46. Coach Janata was very pleased with his team and said, “Against a very talented Bancroft Rosalie team, the boys did a nice job of playing defense and hitting the offensive and defensive boards. Bancroft Rosalie went on several offensive runs, but the boys did a nice job of composing themselves and picking each other up and getting back in the game.”
The leading scorers for the Jags were:
Nathan Tomcak with 13 points.
Dane Meyer and Andre Martin with 12 points.
Hunter Luther has 8 points.
Carson Heard with 6 points.
On Monday, March 3rd, the Jaguars will be hosting their district final game versus the Axtell Wildcats.
