Howells Dodge defeat the Knights
On Thursday, February 6, the Howells-Dodge Jaguars took on the Oakland-Craig Knights in the second round of the East Husker Conference tournament. Per quarter scoring was:
HDC: 7/10/18/11 Final: 46
O-C: 10/10/4/13 Final: 37
The leading scorers for the boys were junior Dane Meyer with 13, juniors Andre Martin and Hunter Luther with 10, junior Nathan Tomcak with 7, and senior Carson Heard with 6.
The Howells-Dodge boys basketball team’s record is now 15-4. “The game was a battle, with both teams playing extremely physical defense. We did not handle their pressure very well early in the game and we were impatient on offense,” said head coach Kevin Janata. “Once we settled in and took care of the ball, we were able to run the offense and get some good looks. Our transition game came up big in the 3rd quarter which really swung the game in our favor. I was really proud of the way we responded to the adversity early in the game.”
