Jaguars take down the Titans

On February 11, the Howells-Dodge Jaguars played the Twin River Titans at Dodge for parents' night. The Jaguars kept their lead by scoring more than the Titans in each quarter, proving their dominance on the court.

In the first quarter, the Jags came out with an early lead scoring 18, while the Titans only scored 10. The Jaguars kept their lead in the second quarter, scoring 13 and allowing 10 points. In the third quarter, the Jaguars took their big lead in the game scoring 27 points and only allowing the Titans to score 13. The Jags chased their victory in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points over the Titans 9 points. The final score of the game was 75 to 42.

The game's leading scorer for the Jaguars was Andre Martin with 18. Carson Heard scored 15, and Nathan Tomcak and Dane Meyer both scored 11 points. Chase and Hunter Luther both scored 8 points each. Finally, Ethan Prusa and Cooper Kreikemeier scored 2 points each. 

Leading in assists was Tomcak with 10, Dane Meyer had 5, Hunter Luther had 4, Cooper Kreikemeier and Chase Luther each had 3, and Andre Martin, Ethan Prusa, and Isaac Meyer all had 1 assist. Leading rebounds for the Jaguars were Hunter Luther, Andre Martin, and Dane Meyer with 6. Next Ethan Prusa and Nathan Tomcak each had 4 rebounds. Noah Couful and Carson Heard each had 2 defensive rebounds. And Cooper Krekiemeir and Briggs Ernst each had 1 rebound for the night.

Head Coach Janata stated, “It was a good night for the Jags offensively as we moved the ball well and found open shooters. We shot extremely well from the field going 10 of 22 from the 3-point line and making 74% of our 2’s. Andre Martin had a great night in the post, scoring 18 points, while Carson Heard hit 5 threes. Nathan Tomcak also had a double-double, scoring 11 points to go along with 10 assists.”
