The Jaguars pummel the Patriots
The Howells-Dodge Jaguars defeated the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots on Saturday, February 1st. Per quarter scoring was:

The Jags were hot shooters with 12 boys scoring. Hunter Luther and Nathan Tomcak scored 13 points; Andre Martin scored 12; Carson Heard had 10; Cooper Kreikemeier had 5 points; Dane Meyer and Noah Coufal each scored 4 points; Isaac Meyer and Ethan Prusa both had 3; Cole Bayer and Chase Luther each scored 2; and Briggs Ernst scored 1 point. The boys were hungry under both baskets with plenty of offensive and defensive rebounds. Tomcak snatched 9 rebounds, D. Meyer had 8, Prusa and Martin each had 5, both Luther boys had 4, I. Meyer and Kreikemeier each had 3, N. Coufal got 2, and finally, Heard had 1 rebound. The Jags also had plenty of assists with D. Meyer leading the team with 7 assists; Heard had 4; Tomcak had 3; Martin and C. Luther had 2; and Bayer, H. Luther, N. Coufal, and Kreikemeier each had 1. D. Meyer and Tomcak both robbed 2 steals. Not far behind, Heard, N. Coufal, H. Luther, Ernst, and Isaiah Coufal each snagged 1 steal.
This was a very successful first round for the boys in the East Husker Conference Tournament. Head Coach Kevin Janata said, “The boys came out and played efficiently on both offense and defense. It was a good team win with twelve Jaguars scoring points.” Next up, the Jaguars will take on the Oakland Craig Knights in Pender at 6:00 P.M on February 4th.
